Call for Proposals: NECSC Conference October 25-26, 2010 @McGill University
The Northeast Campus Sustainability Consortium invites submissions of presentation proposals for the 7th Annual NECSC Conference: Sustainability & Global Citizenship Education.
Conference Theme:
What role does higher education play in global citizenship education? How can colleges and universities adapt to changing economic, social and environmental conditions in perspective of globalization? How can our institutions benefit from new media and tertiary learning opportunities to facilitate our students’ learning outside of the traditional academic milieu towards becoming active, engaged, global citizens?
This year, as we reach the midpoint of the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development, we reflect and share our experiences, successes and lessons learned on the theme of Sustainability and Global Citizenship Education. We convene in the vibrant, multicultural city of Montreal at McGill University, one of Canada's best-known institutions of higher learning and one of the country's leading research-intensive universities.
We are seeking new, cutting-edge presentations about how higher education can further integrate the principles of sustainable development into all aspects of education and learning to better address the social, economic, cultural and environmental challenges we face. While individual speakers are welcome, we also encourage small groups of presenters from within an institution or from two or more institutions to form teams. For more information, please refer to the NECSC Call for Proposals 2010 Deadline to submit: August 15, 2010
